BLV BL-CH4 Drone Methane Detector

The BLV BL-CH4 is our flagship drone-mounted laser methane detection sensor, designed for lightweight and efficient deployment. Featuring an all-in-one integrated design, the BL-CH4 combines five essential modules: a laser receiver, laser indicator, laser emitter, RGB camera, and laser rangefinder. Its advanced sensor array, powered by intelligent algorithms, enables rapid detection and pinpointing of methane sources—allowing operators to identify leaks quickly and respond with timely action.

Technology

Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS)

  1. Wide-Area Coverage & High Efficiency
    • Drones can cover large and remote areas quickly, including pipelines, wellheads, landfills, and storage tanks.
    • Reduces time and manpower compared to ground-based inspections.
  2. Real-Time, Non-Contact Detection
    • Equipped with laser or TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) sensors for accurate, long-distance, non-contact gas detection.
    • Enables fast detection of methane leaks without the need for close physical access.
  3. Enhanced Safety
    • Minimizes the need for personnel to enter hazardous or hard-to-reach environments (e.g., high-pressure zones, toxic gas areas).
    • Reduces exposure to risks like explosions, methane, H₂S, or oxygen-deficient zones.
  4. High Accuracy & Sensitivity
    • Advanced sensors detect even trace levels of methane, with results often displayed in ppm·m (parts per million multiplied by distance).
    • Suitable for both localized leak detection and wide-area scanning.

Product Application Advantage

  • 300 meters test distance
  • real time data processing
  • 5ms fast response
  • Three axis enhanced stability head
  • Accurate location of the leak point
  • Cloud platform data is updated synchronously

Pain Points For The Traditional Detection

  • Difficult to detect low concentrations of methane leak in large or complex environments.
  • Time-consuming on manual operation and on-site sampling.
  • The covered area is limited for a handheld devices or fixed monitoring station.
  • Risk-taking to detect in a remote or hazardous areas.

Advantages of Drone Methane Technology By BL-CH4

  • Based on drone technology, it can fly and detect all kinds of scenarios without limitation efficiently and accurately.
  • TDLAS technology enables the system with high performance in sensitivity and quick response speed, also support the workin distance up to 300m.
  • Diversification on software supports both APP / Cloud Platform for the flight monitoring and management.
